Her Story
Leneka Rhoden is an Ambassador of the Governor-General’s I Believe Initiative, Youth Ambassador of Shashamane Sunrise, the Founding Director of Be Invigorated, Co-Founder and President of La Clique Des Chics, Regional Ambassador of UNEP- Tunza Eco-Generation, Host and Executive Director of the New Year’s Resolution Competition, Director of Group Communications at Volunteering Ambassadors, Social Media Director of Dress for Success Jamaica, and she also plays an active role as a volunteer of Amnesty International, Black Women Honours and JAYECAN.
Leneka stands for Empowerment and Inspiration.
She is poised through her profound initiatives to make a difference as a young activist, humanitarian and philanthropist. Leneka started the New Year’s Resolution Competition in 2014 where the purpose of this competition is for young people to develop the sense of looking forward to a positive year. The competition scoped over 10,000 engagements on Social Media and has captured the interest of major corporate sponsors. She also initiated the CAPE and CSEC Study Sessions Spectacular for High School Students across Jamaica and has impacted the academic success of over 500 students since its start in 2015 under her women empowerment society, La Clique Des Chics. Leneka is a great supporter of the Wortley Home for Girls and the Bethlehem Children’s Home as she annually hosts ‘Drives of Empowerment’ to supply the facilities with clothes and books for the children. She has gathered and donated over 3 Million worth of materials to the Homes she currently supports and major entities have donated to the cause.
Leneka is a recipient of the Governor-General’s Youth Award for Excellence in recognition of outstanding leadership and achievement. She is a graduate of The Queen’s School where she served as the Student Council President, a Senior Prefect and House Captain of Queen Victoria and has been awarded The Evelyn Clarke Memorial Trophy for Outstanding Citizenship, the Desmond Allen Trophy for Outstanding Achievement in Social Studies at CSEC Level and a trophy for her Excellent Performance at the CSEC level and one in recognition of her Outstanding Performance at the CAPE level, and in her final year, she decided to give running a try and was awarded Class 1’s 1st Runner Up Champion Girl at Sports Day.
Leneka received 62 University admission offers from well renowned universities such as the University of St. Andrew (ranked 3rd in the UK) and King’s College London. She currently attends the University of the West Indies as a recipient of the RuJohn Foundation Scholarship. Leneka aspires to be a Medical Scientist.
